This week, URP To­ba­go brought a light and de­li­cious treat to the lit­tle chil­dren of schools in the east­ern part of To­ba­go—Sikiyé figs!

Ac­cord­ing to a re­lease from the Di­vi­sion of In­fra­struc­ture, Quar­ries and Ur­ban De­vel­op­ment (DIQUD) in the To­ba­go House of As­sem­bly (THA), the young­sters were very ap­pre­ci­at­ed of the spe­cial gift.

“The proof is in the eat­ing!  We’ve plant­ed and har­vest­ed…and Sikiye figs will be pro­vid­ed by URP as a sup­ple­men­tary snack with­in the School Nu­tri­tion Pro­gramme,” the re­lease stat­ed. 

It added: “And what did the lit­tle ones have to say?  Yum­my! Yum­my!”

The fruits were har­vest­ed from the URP To­ba­go’s own food gar­dens.
