MONTEGO BAY, St JamesWadadah FC confirmed their supremacy over Faulkland FC after beating them in a second-straight Western Confederation Charley’s JB Rum final, after edging them 1-0 in the mid-season play-offs at Jarrett Park on Sunday. Wadadah FC had beaten Faulkland FC in sudden-death penalties in the final, last season, and extended their unbeaten run against last season’s mid-season champions into a third season, despite finishing the game with 10 men after Tereto Gregory was sent off in the second half.

Kemiro James‘s first-half goal made the difference between the teams as Wadadah FC collected $50,000 and the trophy and set themselves up as favourites to win back-to-back titles.

Faulkland FC, who had topped the points table after the first two rounds on goal difference over Wadadah FC, got off to the better start but failed to capitalise on their early chances.

James, who took his scoring tally to nine goals, shot Wadadah FC into the lead in the 11th minute, scoring against the run of play, catching the Faulkland FC defence on their heels and the striker had the time to calmly roll the ball past goalkeeper Robert Morrison.

Faulkland FC threw caution to the wind at the start of the second half and made three changes, including Ewan Barton, who had scored a hat-trick in his previous game.
